In August 2024, there was year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation in Tangerang City of 2.65 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.7.

The y-on-y inflation occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in all expenditure group indices, namely: food, beverages and tobacco group by 3.79 percent; clothing and footwear group by 1.43 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.44 percent; household equipment, tools and routine maintenance group by 3.02 percent; health group by 1.48 percent; transportation group by 1.25 percent; information, communication, and financial services group by 0.63 percent; recreation, sports, and culture group by 1.2 percent; education group by 1.61 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group by 5.69 percent; and personal care and other services group by 6.13 percent.
