Rice production in 2020 amounted to 1.66 million tons of dry unhulled rice (GKG), an increase of 184.67 thousand tons or 12.56 percent compared to 2019 which amounted to 1.47 million tons of GKG.

When viewed from the subround, there was an increase in rice production in the May-August and September-December 2020 subrounds, namely 114.37 thousand tons of GKG (64.88 percent) and 206.36 thousand tons of GKG (25.78 percent), respectively. ) compared to 2019. The only decline occurred in the January-April subround, namely 136.06 thousand tons of GKG (19.20 percent).

If converted into rice for population food consumption, rice production in 2020 will amount to 937.81 thousand tons, an increase of 104.63 thousand tons or 12.56 percent compared to 2019 which amounted to 833.18 thousand tons.

The potential for rice production in the January-April 2021 subround is estimated at 814.14 thousand tons of GKG, an increase of 241.42 thousand tons or 42.15 percent compared to the same subround in 2020 which amounted to 572.73 thousand tons of GKG.
