Abstract

In April 2021, there was inflation of 0.17 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.46. The three CPI cities in Banten Province experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Cilegon City by 0.22 percent with a CPI of 108.26. Followed by the city of Serang at 0.19 percent with a CPI of 108.45 and the city of Tangerang at 0.15 percent with a CPI of 105.82.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index for the food, beverage and tobacco category by 0.49 percent; the equipment, tools and household routine maintenance group by 0.42 percent; the personal care and other services group of 0.18 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.09 percent; the food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.06 percent; the health group by 0.02 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the information, communication and financial services group experienced a fall in index by 0.13 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.02 percent; the transportation group by 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the education group experienced a change in index of less than 0.01 percent.

Month-to-month inflation rate is 0.17 percent, calendar year inflation for April 2021 is 0.81 percent, year-on-year inflation (April 2021 to April 2020) is 1.31 percent.
