Abstract

In September 2021 there was a deflation of 0.10 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.59. The three CPI cities in Banten Province experienced deflation. The lowest deflation occurred in Cilegon City at 0.24 percent with a CPI of 108.20. Followed by the city of Serang at 0.19 percent with a CPI of 108.77. Followed by the city of Tangerang with 0.07 percent with a CPI of 105.94.
Deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by a decrease in the index of the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.76 percent, while the index of 10 other groups experienced an increase in index. The groups that experienced an increase in the index were the personal care and other services group by 0.37 percent; transportation group by 0.31 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.24 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.15 percent; health group by 0.12 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.06 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.04 percent; recreation, sports, and culture groups by 0.03 percent; the education group by 0.03 percent and the information, communication and financial services group experienced a change in index by 0.01 percent.
Calendar year inflation (January-September) 2021 is 0.93 percent, and year-on-year inflation (September 2021 to September 2020) is 1.40 percent
