Abstract

In September 2021, the level of expenditure inequality among the population of Banten Province as measured by the Gini Ratio was 0.363. This figure decreased by 0.002 points when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 and the Gini Ratio in September 2020 which was 0.365.

The Gini Ratio in urban areas in September 2021 was recorded at 0.365, a decrease compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.369 and an increase compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2020 which was 0.361.

The Gini Ratio in rural areas in September 2021 was recorded at 0.278, down compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.280 and the Gini Ratio in September 2020 which was 0.296.

Based on the World Bank's measure of inequality, the distribution of expenditure among the bottom 40 percent is 18.89 percent. This means that population expenditure in September 2021 is in the low inequality level category. If broken down by region, in urban areas the figure was recorded at 18.46 percent, which means it is classified as low inequality. Meanwhile, for rural areas, the figure was recorded at 23.64 percent, which means it is classified as low inequality.
