Abstract

In March 2022, inflation was 1.04 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 109.47. The three CPI cities in Banten Province experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Cilegon City at 1.14 percent with a CPI of 111.40. Followed by the city of Serang at 1.12 percent with a CPI of 112.43. Followed by the city of Tangerang at 1.00 percent with a CPI of 108.63.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index of 7 expenditure groups, namely the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.69 percent; personal care and other services group by 1.65 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 1.07 percent; transportation group by 0.60 percent; health group by 0.35 percent; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups and the provision of food and beverages/restaurants were 0.26 percent each. Meanwhile, the group that experienced the deepest decline in the index was the clothing and footwear group and the recreation, sports, and culture group with 0.06 percent each. Meanwhile, the information, communication and financial services group and the education group experienced insignificant changes in the index, each less than 0.01 percent.
Calendar year inflation (March 2022 - December 2021) was 1.71 percent, and year-on-year inflation (March 2022 to March 2021) was 3.00 percent.
