Development of Banten Exports and Imports in May 2024

A.      Export Development

• Banten's export value in May 2024 increased 23.92 percent compared to the previous month, namely from US$874.16 million to US$1,083.29 million.
• Non-oil and gas exports in May 2024 increased by 24.02 percent to US$1,078.22 million compared to the previous month.
• The largest non-oil and gas export value in May 2024 came from the footwear goods category (HS 64), reaching US$190.92 million.
• The largest non-oil and gas export destination country in May 2024 is the United States with an export value of US$155.21 million.
• Non-oil and gas exports in May 2024 will experience an increase in almost all sectors, except the agricultural sector. The highest increase occurred in the mining and other sectors.
• Banten's export value in May 2024 was highest through Tanjung Priok Port, reaching US$925.54 million.

B.      Import Development

• Banten's import value in May 2024 fell 3.90 percent compared to the previous month, namely from US$2,992.24 million to US$2,875.68 million.
• Oil and gas imports in May 2024 fell 43.84 percent from US$620.28 million in the previous month to US$348.37 million. Meanwhile, for non-oil and gas commodities, the value of imports increased by 6.55 percent to US$ 2,527.31 million compared to the previous month.
• The largest non-oil and gas import value in May 2024 came from electrical machinery/equipment (HS 85) which reached US$553.33 million.
• The largest supplier of non-oil and gas imported goods in May 2024 is China with an import value of US$495.74 million.
• The value of imports by goods use class in May 2024 compared to the previous month for consumer goods increased by US$ 16.68 million (10 percent). Meanwhile, raw/auxiliary goods and capital goods decreased respectively by US$130.51 million (6.21 percent) and US$2.73 million (0.38 percent).
