There was inflation in February 2021 of 0.25 percent. The highest inflation occurred in Kota Tangerang at 0.26 percent

In February 2021, there was inflation of 0.25 percent with the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.23. The three CPI cities in Banten Province experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Kota Tangerang at 0.26 percent with the CPI of 105.65. Followed by the city of Cilegon with 0.25 percent with a CPI of 107.71 and the city of Serang at 0.19 percent with a CPI of 108.11.

Inflation occurred due to price increases as indicated by the increase in the index for the food and beverage / restaurant supply group by 0.57 percent; the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.49 percent; the equipment, tools and household routine maintenance group by 0.38 percent; the personal care and other services group of 0.24 percent; the transportation group of 0.16 percent; clothing and footwear group of 0.08; the housing, water, electricity, and household fuel group by 0.02 percent; the health group by 0.01 percent; the information, communication and financial services group of 0.01 percent; while the recreation, sports, and culture group as well as the education group experienced changes in the index but it was not significant by less than 0.01 percent.

The inflation rate for the calendar year February 2021 is 0.59 percent. The month-on-month inflation rate is 0.25 percent. Meanwhile, the year-on-year inflation rate (February 2021 against February 2020) is 1.38 percent.
