Abstract

In June 2021 there was a deflation of 0.17 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.53. The three CPI cities in Banten Province experienced deflation. The highest deflation occurred in Tangerang City at 0.22 percent with a CPI of 105.82. Followed by Serang city at 0.05 percent with a CPI of 108.79 and Cilegon city at 0.02 percent with a CPI of 108.45.
Deflation occurred due to a decrease in prices as indicated by a decrease in the index of the food, beverage and tobacco group by 0.92 percent and the transportation group by 0.45 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced an increase in the index were the recreational, sports, and cultural groups by 0.64 percent; personal care and other services group by 0.46 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.30 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.20 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.10 percent; health group by 0.05 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.02 percent; and the information, communication and financial services group experienced an index increase of 0.01 percent. Meanwhile the education group; experienced a change in the index of less than 0.01 percent.
Calendar year inflation (January-June) 2021 is 0.88 percent, and year-on-year inflation (June 2021 to June 2020) is 1.15 percent.
