Abstract

In December 2021 there was inflation of 0.69 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 107.62. The three CPI cities in Banten Province experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Serang City at 0.73 percent with a CPI of 109.82. Followed by the city of Tangerang at 0.69 percent with a CPI of 106.94. Followed by the city of Cilegon at 0.66 percent with a CPI of 109.43.

Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index for 7 expenditure groups, namely the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.02 percent; personal care and other services group at 0.40 percent; transportation group at 0.32 percent; food and beverage/restaurant provision group at 0.23 percent; equipment, tools and routine household maintenance group of 0.20 percent; clothing and footwear group at 0.11 percent; housing, water, electricity and household fuel group at 0.05 percent. Meanwhile, the health group, recreation, sports and culture group, and education group each experienced an increase/decrease in the index of less than 0.01 percent. Meanwhile, the group that experienced a decline in the index was the information, communication and financial services group by 0.04 percent.

Calendar year inflation (January - December) 2021 was 1.91 percent, and year-on-year inflation (December 2021 to December 2020) was 1.91 percent.
