Abstract

In January 2022, inflation was 0.59 percent with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 108.26. The three CPI cities in Banten Province experienced inflation. The highest inflation occurred in Cilegon City at 1.00 percent with a CPI of 110.52. Followed by the city of Serang at 0.97 percent with a CPI of 106.94. Followed by the city of Tangerang with 0.46 percent with a CPI of 107.43.
Inflation occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index of 9 expenditure groups, namely the transportation group by 1.44 percent; household equipment, equipment and routine maintenance group by 0.98 percent; food, beverage, and tobacco groups by 0.94 percent; personal care and other services group by 0.34 percent; housing, water, electricity, and household fuel groups by 0.33 percent; food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.24 percent; education group by 0.17 percent; clothing and footwear group by 0.05 percent; and the health group by 0.03 percent. Meanwhile, the groups that experienced a decline in the index were the information, communication and financial services group by 0.08 percent and the recreation, sports and culture group by 0.04 percent.
Calendar year inflation (January 2022 - December 2021) is 0.59 percent, and year-on-year inflation (January 2022 to January 2021) is 2.16 percent.
